Fundraising for Students to visit Magnolia Grove

0

For the last three years high school seniors from Warren Easton (a New Orleans public school) have visited Magnolia Grove Monastery in Batesville, Mississippi.

The students spent five days with the monastics practicing sitting, walking, and working meditation, exploring the woods, singing, playing volleyball, basketball, and ping pong, enjoying bonfires, trying Vietnamese began food, participating in dharma talks, and most importantly, breathing!

The retreat at Magnolia Grove gives students a break from a loud and often chaotic city. They are able to fully be kids without any worries. This has been an excellent and well-loved experience that the students cherish and continue to benefit from.

Please consider helping the class of 2013 make the trip this year. Students will be paying for their stay at the monastery, but the bus from New Orleans to Batesville is quite expensive.

Your donation will help provide an experience that a young person will carry with them for the rest of their lives.
