1 event,
We are happy to announce that the monastics from our 3 monasteries in the U.S. and 15 of our monastic siblings from Plum Village will be going on tour this Fall. In these times, many of us may experience anxiety, fear, anger, confusion and despair. Our ancestral wounds may be reopened as we experience a […] |

Wake Up California is organizing its third annual camping event to bring together mindfulness practitioners from California and Baja California and focus on nurturing the local Sanghas. This is an unique opportunity for 18-35 year olds throughout California to practice mindfulness in a loving community, and nurture the seeds of joy and happiness on the peaceful grounds of Big Sur. We will enjoy quality time on the beautiful Plaskett Creek Campground for 3 nights
The retreat will be led by a team of monastics from Plum Village, France. During the retreat, we’ll have the chance to explore in community such questions as: How can we find meaning and purpose in our lives? How can we be peaceful, free and happy in ourselves while also acting to bring healing to the world, reduce injustice, and protect the planet? How can we live in such a way that brings more joy, compassion and love to ourselves and others? |

Our self-talk is often coined by harsh words, judgment, and criticism towards all the alleged mistakes and weaknesses in us. We deny ourselves understanding, kindness, encouragement and love, and do not accept the complexity of life. The relationship to ourselves also sets the tone of our relationship to others. During this retreat, we are going to explore how it feels to treat ourselves and others with loving kindness, to heal wounds and transform unwholesome habit energies in gentle ways, and to be able to treat us and others with more kindness and peace. |
