Wake Up OI Online Weekend Sessions this June 14+15

June 14 @ 2:00 PM - June 15 @ 4:00 PM

Dear Wake Uppers around the world,

We warmly invite you to join us on the weekend of June 14–15, 2025, for a special two session online gathering with the title “Seeds of Interbeing” featuring a Dharma talk, panel sharings, guided meditation, small group discussions, and Q&A with senior Dharma teachers. Together, we’ll explore the vision of the Order of Interbeing (OI) and reflect on the meaning of the 14 Mindfulness Trainings in our lives.

This event is an opportunity for Wake Uppers, Wake Up alumni, and young OI members to come together, connect, and share our aspirations and questions about the OI path. It is also a chance to meet some of the Dharma teachers who will be guiding the upcoming Wake Up International OI Study Group that we plan to start this autumn.

Supporting Dharma Teachers include:

  • Sr. Trish Thompson (Chân An Định, True Concentration on Peace) – Dharma teacher since 2011, based in Vietnam and the U.S. In 2006, Sr. Trish founded the Hanoi Community of Mindful Living. This marked the first time in Viet Nam that a Plum Village sangha was allowed to openly serve the community. She also founded the Loving Work Foundation and has guided and mentored generations of OI aspirants.
  • Br. Jem Jerker (Chân Pháp Hộ, True Dharma Protector) – Dharma teacher since 2010, former monk of 18 years. He served as the abbot of Deer Park Monastery and co-founded the Earth Holder Community. In 2020, after surviving stage 4 cancer, Jem returned to Sweden and eventually disrobed. Jem continues to share his experience and gifts with Plum Village Community in Sweden, as well as offering talks, courses, individual sessions and retreats under Golden Path, that he runs with his wife Emma.
  • Sr. Julia Ramanoelina (Chân Hài Nghiêm) – Dharma teacher since 2016, former nun of 12 years, now based in southern France. She collaborates in the “Living Gems” project of Plum Village and translates Thay’s Vietnamese talks for French practitioners among other Sangha activities.
  • Br. Chân Trời Bảo Tạng, also known as Brother Treasure, is from Indonesia. He was ordained by Thay in 2011, and is a Dharma Teacher since 2020. He energetically supports community building, including among LGBTQIA+ communities. He is deeply inspired to help make Thầy’s teachings accessible and relevant to everyone, deepening and renewing them so they remain a living treasure for generations to come.

Together, we’ll explore questions such as:

  • How do the 14 Mindfulness Trainings support my Sangha building efforts and where can I find support if I want to study them more deeply?
  • How do the 14 Mindfulness Trainings support us in engaging with the world while staying grounded during turbulent times?
  • What is the Order of Interbeing, and what does it mean to become a part of it?
  • What is the new Wake Up International OI Study Group?

Who is this for?

This weekend is open to young practitioners (up to age 45) who feel called to deepen their mindfulness practice and commitment to Sangha building. Whether you already feel drawn to becoming an OI aspirant, are simply curious about the Order of Interbeing and the new Wake Up International study group (or you are just looking to be nourished by practicing together with fellow engaged Wake Up siblings), you are warmly invited to join our international Sangha for a weekend of connection and inspiration.
