International Sangha Building Wake Up Retreat
September 27, 2014 @ September 27, 2014 - October 3, 2014 @ October 3, 2014
➢ For both experienced and interested young people (age 18 – 35)
➢ Sangha/ Community builders from across Europe come together
“Ever since I was a young monk, my dream has been to build a happy Sangha. Now, after sixty years of monastic practice, I continue to feel that Sangha building is the most precious work that we can do as practitioners. The Sangha is our community of practice, and it is also our refuge. We rely on it and trust it to support our deepest aspirations and to give us energy and inspiration on the path of practice.” – Thich Nhat Hanh (in ‘Joyfully Together: The Art of Building a Harmonious Community’)
Wake Up warmly invites you to join us at a retreat for Wake Up sangha builders: facilitators and anyone who actively contributes their time and energy to activities of the sangha. We also welcome members who are interested in becoming involved in sangha building and think of maybe starting a new sangha in their home town.
Supported by monastics from the EIAB, this retreat is an opportunity for us to meet and practise together, and strengthen our facilitation skills. We will have the space to reflect together on the joys
and challenges involved in sangha building activities. Experienced Wake Uppers will share with us about their activities and experiences in building flourishing sanghas.
We will enjoy sitting and walking meditation, sharing, deep relaxation, play, sing and have a good time together. Attendees will be invited to fully participate in the facilitation of the practices and support other retreat activities to help deepen ourselves as sangha builders.
