Break the Shell
During the Be-In on the last Lay Day of the winter retreat in Plum Village, Cheï from Amsterdam sang a beautiful rendition of India Arie’s Break the Shell.
She was one of the 80 long-term lay friends who practiced with the monastic community from November 2014 to February 2015.

Beautiful and so incredibly brave, Cheï! I was just leaving the be-in, when you started to sing; from the distance I saw you rising and heard your voice and it touched me a lot!
Keep singing and breaking the shell – you water the flowers of joy and courage in us and yourself!
